Chris Huffine, Psy.D Chris is a licensed psychologist who has been working in the field of domestic violence for over 13 years. He regularly offers classes and trainings on domestic violence for professionals, college students, and the general public. He previously supervised graduate students offering anger management groups at Pacific University's Psychological Services Center. He is an adjunct faculty member at Portland State University where he offers an annual class on teaching anger management skills. He previously offered an OPA sponsored training with Curt St. Denis, in 2003, entitled "What Every Psychologist Should Know About Domestic Violence". Besides his group work, he also offers individual and couples counseling for adults. Other areas of clinical interest include mood disorders, gender issues, and addictions. After a 12 year stay he left Men's Resource Center in the fall of 2004 to start his own agency, Allies in Change Counseling Center. That agency currently offers abuse intervention groups for men and women, a relationship support group for women, a parenting class for men who have been abusive, and domestic violence evaluations, as well as individual and couples counseling. |

Brad L. Peterson - MA Brad holds two Master of Arts degrees, one in Counseling from Western Seminary and another in Pastoral Studies from Multnomah Biblical Seminary, both in Portland, Oregon. He received his Bachelors of Science in Biblical Education Degree from Multnomah Bible College. Since 1991, Brad has served in both part-time and full-time ministry as a pastor in Washington, Oregon and New York and currently maintains a part-time pastorate at a local congregation. He has also served as a short-term missionary in Mexico, Europe, and Asia. Since 2002, Brad has been a registered counselor with the Washington State Department of Health and a certified staff treatment provider with the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services Domestic Violence Perpetrator Treatment Program. In addition to five years of direct treatment to domestic violence perpetrators, he has three years experience conducting 8-hr. Aggression Control Workshops, as well as individual anger management evaluations and treatment. He has received specialized training in a variety of areas, including crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and spiritual integration. As a counselor, he specializes in men’s issues, sexual addiction recovery, and premarital and marital counseling. |

Joan Scott - LCSW Joan is a native of Portland whose counseling experience has spanned the past 35 years. Her undergraduate studies were at Marylhurst University with her graduate studies at the Graduate School of Social Work, Portland State University. Most recently her love of dream work and Jungian Psychology has taken her to Pacifica Graduate Institute, Santa Barbara, where she has completed her course work toward a doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Depth Psychology. Joan has been in private practice for the past 19 years working with women and trauma, couples and families. She has worked in the field of domestic violence for 7 years and has been at Allies in Change for one year. In the field of domestic violence she has worked with individuals, couples, families and groups for both men and women. In addition she has a background in mental health, addictions, trauma, death and dying and Jungian dream work. She also has run a group home for severely traumatized adolescent girls through the child welfare system for the past 9 years. |

Susan Bennett - Ph.D Susan earned her PhD in clinical psychology from Texas Tech University in 1986. She has worked most of her professional career in the public sector; as a therapist and treatment coordinator for a family sexual abuse treatment program, as a psychologist at the state hospital adult and adolescent treatment programs, and as a supervisor of mental health programs in the state prison system. Susan currently has a part-time private practice, providing psychotherapy for low-income adults without insurance. Susan has worked with Allies in Change as group facilitator since December 2005. |

Liz Carey - MSW Liz graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. in 2002 with a Bachelor degrees in History and Literature. She earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Portland State University in 2006 and has spent the past several years working with community programs for women, domestic violence victims, advocacy, parent education and support for adolescent mothers, as well as case management, policy development (for the first 24-hour Spanish language crisis line for women in Oregon), volunteer bilingual crisis line advocacy, and youth development for adolescent girls. Liz has also worked with individual cases, focusing in particular on social context. She views batterers intervention as a natural evolution from victims advocacy in the domestic violence movement because domestic violence and sexual assault are not women’s issues; men are intricately involved. |

Curtis St. Denis - MA Curtis has worked with men who batter in three different programs since 1989. He also provides assessments for violence and dangerousness for Multnomah County and is an Assistant Adjunct Professor at Portland State University. His work history includes assessments and treatment with sex offenders, batterers, the mentally ill, psychopathic and violent offenders. |

Debbie Tomasovic - LMFT Debbie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has provided family, couples, group, individual, and child therapy for 13 years. Debbie has specialized in trauma recovery, utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (E.M.D.R.) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (D.B.T.) techniques with her clients. She also specializes in eco-psychology, utilizing eco-therapy techniques with individual clients. Diana Groener - MS Diana earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, followed by a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. She has run Batterer's Intervention groups for men at the largest agencies in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties over a seven year period. She began working at Allies in Change in 2006 shortly after relocating to Oregon. Diana has experience working with individuals, couples, and families, on a variety of subjects. |

Marc Hess - LCSW Marc has a B.A. in Psychology from Temple University, and a M.S.W. from Portland State University. Marc has 33 years of experience in social services, including 16 years in the field of domestic violence as both a probation officer and counselor. From 1995-2005, Marc created and directed the Multnomah County Family Treatment and Violence Intervention Program. Marc has enjoyed 17 years teaching Aikido with Mind and Body Coordination: relaxation, concentration, meditation, leadership for adults and children (4th Degree Black Belt). Marc has a Level II EMDR Certification, has led a private practice since 1998 and has worked with Allies in Change since 2005. |

Dean Camarda….. Dean has over 1200 clinical hours in group treatment programs for abusive/controlling men in the last fours years with four different agencies in Oregon. He also has training and experience with at-risk youth/adolescents at Boys' Town in Nebraska. Dean also has produced independent television programs and videos including a victim impact video, It's Your Choice, currently in use in several BIP's throughout Oregon. |
